While the earliest portrayal of Kratos was that of an absolute unit with no end to his rage in sight, the recent installments in the God of War series have showcased a softer and more composed side of him, which has its own tradeoffs.

The early installments of the franchise managed to gain popularity by featuring a protagonist who knows no limit and often would go overbounds displaying a pure act of spartan rage. And fans now wonder what it would take to bring this side of him out once again.

While the ash-covered protagonist might be more mature now than ever, it has always been a topic of great discussion about what step the creators would need to take if they ever want to bring back his cold-hearted side once again.

There are essentially a few different ways to go about this dilemma, as making someone rage, especially one who has finally come to peace with his violent past, would be a hard task to accomplish, but can eventually be done.

Other the Atreus getting hurt or killed, what could possibly give kratos this type of reaction again?

The most evident way to go about it would be to introduce a traumatic event revolving around Atreus, his son, which would be the safest way to go if you want to see him lose all his senses again and become the wild monster the fans know and love.

This is further made possible because Atreus has embarked on a journey of his own in the events of Ragnarok, and might soon need assistance from his dad.

Alternatively, a betrayal from someone he trusts very deeply would arguably have the same effect, causing him to go insane once again, and might set him on the path to vengeance. The said betrayal can come from well-established characters in the franchise, such as Freya or Mimir.

With how the studio left things off in the latest installment of the franchise, fans now await patiently for another release soon, which fortunately might be closer than what many fans assume.

A few months ago, a new job vacancy was spotted in Santa Monica, the developers of the video game series, and it has been chaotic ever since, with fans believing the vacancy indicates how the studio is gearing up for coming up with the next installment in the game series.

There also remains a huge possibility that the listing was posted to prepare for an expected spin-off about Atreus instead, which would be a win for the fans nonetheless, as long as it brings back the hot-headed Kratos they know and love.
