Helldivers 2 is in desperate need of new content that will help bring back all the players it has lost in the past few months, and one of the only sensible options left is to follow down the path of Fortnite, introducing a much-anticipated collaboration with another franchise.
What would make the most sense would be a crossover with the Terminator franchise, something that the players of the game have been preparing for since day one, even making custom animations to see what it would feel like.

Posting on the game’s official subreddit, a player has showcased what seems to be the best artwork someone has created for Helldivers 2 yet. The animated video uploaded by the user features a barebone robot, taking inspiration from the famous Terminator series and its character, T2.
Stepping on skulls while a war is going on in the background sets the perfect example of why we need a crossover between the two as soon as possible. The animated video also goes so far as to show us how well a film based on the game and its lore could work out.

Despite the chances being slim, a crossover with another popular franchise remains inevitable in the game’s future, with it especially being a live-service game with hundreds of thousands of active players every month.
What More Can Arrowhead Take After When It Comes to Hellldivers 2?
Alternatively, what can work best for the game to attract players once again is to establish and give solid answers to theories that players have been building on, much like the famous What If series by Marvel.
If executed perfectly, then the creators of the game can finally give players the answers they have been looking for, like what if the automatons bring back the cyborgs from vacating cyberspace?
Ultimately, it remains up to Johan Pilestedt, the Chief Creative Officer of the studio, and other developers if they are willing to take up the idea pitched by the community and work on delivering it.
