The entry of the final boss in Elden Ring’s recent Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was shocking, to say the least, as players got to fight against Starscourge Radahn once again, albeit in a different form and power than before.

The sacrifice of Mohg, made by Miquella after using his charm on the Lord of Blood, made the return of one of the mightiest demigods possible. This allowed the empyrean twin to enter the Realm of Shadow and use Mohg’s body as a vessel to bring back Radahn, with some fans now believing all that buildup might have gone to waste.

To begin with, the final boss of the much-anticipated DLC being a face players are already familiar with has received mixed reactions from the community, and they have now begun to point out how Mohg’s sacrifice could have been showcased better in the final fight.

Likewise, a post made on Elden Ring’s Reddit community has been reaching every fan’s screen, mentioning how just a few horns coming out of Radahn’s armor and a single blood incantation used during the fight is not enough at all to showcase how the demigod is using Mohg as a vessel to come back.

The post also mentioned how the Lord of Blood has one of the most diverse moveset in all of Elden Ring, and the studio could have easily implemented more of it when it comes to depicting how it is his body that is being used as a vessel.

As witnessed by all, the launch of FromSoftware’s biggest expansion to date was rocky at first, even dropping to mixed reviews on the game’s official Steam Storefront in the first few days.

Furthermore, it has been a constant complaint ever since the launch of the DLC how it fails to deliver to fans’ expectations lore-wise, not giving even a bit of background about much asked about mysteries of Godwyn the Golden and the Gloam-Eyed Queen.

However, on the other hand, players have also appreciated how Shadow of the Erdtree sticks to the roots of FromSoftware, taking the tough bosses as a plus point for the expansion and calling the separate storyline to be something that follows the precedent set by other souls games in the past.
