Revealed for the first time in Xbox’s Games Showcase last month, many fans have been looking to know more about the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day, a title that brings an update to one of the most loved first-party franchises on the platform.

Snooping around in the job vacancies listed by The Coalition studios, the developing house responsible for the upcoming game, one can see how a listing states a requirement for a Senior Online Client Engineer.
What is intriguing is how the preferred qualifications in this particular listing call for someone with not only experience with the Xbox Live platform but PSN and Steam as well, hinting towards how the game might hit Sony’s console as well upon its eventual release.
It should not come as a surprise if the rumor turns out to be true in the end, bearing in mind how Phil Spencer, the head of the studio, has been recently working on bringing nearly every first-party exclusive to other platforms.
Despite being a huge move towards ending the everlasting console wars, the release of the upcoming title on ‘rival’ platforms is sure to bring some upset reactions from fans, especially those who have remained faithful to the studio ever since the beginning.

From being the preferred controller type to delivering players an ultimate experience with the Game Pass, Microsoft seems to finally be a step ahead of its competition in the gaming world, and the dominance will not stop anytime soon.
By ultimately releasing its exclusives on other platforms, Xbox currently seems to be hell-bent on replacing the industry dynamics, a change which began months ago with the release of Sea of Thieves on PlayStation. The studio has also revealed how the upcoming Doom: The Dark Ages will be released on other storefronts as well, making fans wonder what is the end game here.
Coming back to the upcoming Gears of War title, fans, for now, will have to wait patiently for official news to find out if the game will be making its way to PS5 or not, which can be months away and is likely to be released with the title’s official release date announcement.
