While Hidetaka Miyazaki is usually known for his works in the Dark Fantasy genre, it seems like he still vividly remembers the first ever video game series he ever worked on, like it was yesterday. Moreover, he might finally be in the spirits to bring a new release to the said franchise himself one more time.

The first game the director got to work on was none other than Armored Core: Last Raven, a title that he holds close to his heart to this date, something that will be explored deeply as we get to know how he might be planning to direct another release himself after he is finally done with Elden Ring’s DLC.

As revealed by Hidetaka Miyazaki himself, Shadow of the Erdtree is going to be the first and only DLC he plans to make for Elden Ring. While this also means the studio might prefer to jump straight to a sequel, it also reveals how the director is going to finally have time to himself once again, and it might be then that he decides to direct another Armored Core game.

Fortunately, this does not only remain a speculation, as Miyazaki himself has shown a willingness to take on another installment of his first video game franchise. The director gave the following statement in an interview via IGN Japan, giving fans hope once again-

The ARMORED CORE series is very important to FromSoftware. We have a strong will to continue it in the future. I believe ARMORED CORE VI was a success. On the other hand, not everything was perfect, and there is still room for improvement. So, I have no intention of stopping there

The director commented on how while one of the latest games released in the franchise can be considered a success, there is always room to finesse and perfect every single element, something that the studio, and especially the director himself are potentially looking forward to doing.

What Would Be Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Next Project If Not Armoured Core

Elden Ring is going to receive only a single DLC

While it remains highly likely that the director will be working on bringing a new release to his first-ever video game series, there also remains the possibility of him working on other titles, such as the much-requested sequel to his 2015 Bloodborne.

Likewise, Hidetaka Miyazaki could also focus on bringing a sequel to Elden Ring, potentially making it a trilogy, much like his beloved Dark Souls trilogy. This is another path that the director is most likely to follow, as fans have noticed striking similarities between the two franchises, including how the first release in both of them was fortunate enough to only get a single DLC.
