Miquella has proved to be a mysterious figure ever since his ominous introduction in the main Elden Ring storyline. While the primary events of the game turned out to be independent of his journey as an empyrean, Hidetaka Miyazaki has now made the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC revolve around the character’s venture into the Land of Shadow, which the player is yet to explore for himself.

It has been revealed how our tarnished character will supposedly be following in the footsteps of the said empyrean. However, a theory has now arisen, speculating how the events witnessed by the player were set into motion by him, and it all has to do with the entity of St. Trina.
What Do We Know About Miquella’s Alter Identity, And How It Might Change Everything We Know About Elden Ring

It was gravely theorized by the community how St. Trina, an individual identified with sleep-inducing elements in the game was no one but an alternate identity for Miquella, the empyrean son of Queen Marika and Radagon. With the connection being nearly confirmed by Hidetaka Miyazaki himself, to the portrayal of St. Trina present in the recently released story trailer for the DLC, everything now points toward how the two different entities happen to be the same.
Under the assumption that the above-stated theory turns out to be true, one can further speculate how much of an impact Miquella could have potentially had on Elden Ring’s storyline. This premise also opens up the possibility of the Empyrean being the one who provokes Mohg, The Lord of Blood to kidnap his physical body from the Haligtree, and further perform grotesque rituals in return for false promises.
It can be said the death of his physical body, due to the actions performed by Mohg, is what allowed the Empyrean to further head into the Land of Shadows. If proven correct, this theory can also undermine Miquella’s tendency to be ‘kind’ to others, which can turn out to be nothing but a ruse for others to do his bidding for him.
Could Miquella Have Induced Visions To Other Demigods In Elden Ring?

Ranni the Witch is another demigod that our tarnished player comes across in his quest to become the Elden Lord. The player later gets to know how they interact only with Ranni’s soul instead, vesselled inside a doll as she gave up on her mortal flesh long back, an event which again, could have been provoked by the St. Trina themself.
St. Trina’s potential ability to induce visions in sleep can also be the reason why the player is headed next to the Land of Shadow, an unexplored realm that remains yet to be encountered by the player in the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. One further cannot help but wonder if is Miquella playing his tricks once again, luring the tarnished into the foreign land, just for them to do his bidding once again, all the while he hides under the quilt of kindness he has knitted for himself.
