There are many despicable characters in Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Elden Ring. However, there is only one who remains towards the higher end of the list. Godrick the Grafted is not only the most grotesque creature that the player comes across in the game but also happens to be the very first shard-bearing (and the weakest) demigod that the tarnished fights against.

Additionally, the game is often credited with being influenced by the famous Japanese manga series Berserk made by Kentaro Miura, and a new theory has surfaced once again, speculating how Godrick happens to be inspired by one of the most significant characters in the said series.
How Godrick the Grafted From Elden Ring Is Just Another Berserk Reference Made By Hidetaka Miyazaki

Despite there being no official confirmation regarding the elements inspired by the manga franchise from Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of the game, there are still a lot of items and components that have a striking similarity. This includes how the player, if creative enough, can construct their character to fully resemble Guts, including his main weapon and even the armor.
Furthermore, what players have been speculating about in recent times is how the character of Godrick the Grafted might very well be inspired by Griffith, a major entity in the manga series.
The speculation primarily arises from the fact that the demigod appears to be a malformed and grotesque creature. However, he was once a young man with no grafted limbs to harm his appearance, which can be a metaphorical reference to Griffith, implying that Hidetaka Miyazaki made use of the demigod to visually deliver a reference to the Berserk character.
How The Elden Ring And Griffith Connection Came To Be

There remain many other similarities to be found when comparing the two previously stated characters, however, the whole dilemma of Elden Ring being inspired by the Japanese manga series took up pace after the release of the upcoming DLC’s story trailer.
One of the most prevailing theories is how apart from Godrick the Grafted, Miquella the kind can also be a well-structured reference to Griffith. The suspicion first arose due to the similarity between the hair of the two characters, but the rabbit hole went deeper than that.
Apart from the visual resemblance between the two, Miquella also happens to be someone who is soon destined to deliver a plot twist to the Elden Ring storyline as we know it in the coming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, scheduled to release in just a few days from now on June 21st.
Elden Ring is available to purchase on Steam.
