Perks are one of the many elements of what makes up Bethesda’s popular video game title, Fallout 4. Despite being released nearly a decade ago, this game is still where a lot of gamers tend to head to as it was the last title that acted as a sequel to the storyline. Its long-lasting legacy with a tightly knit together community has also caused many theories of the game to surface over the years.
One particular speculation that has been stuck around ever since the beginning is how there is possibly a whole underwater civilization present that players are supposed to know nothing about. While many claim this is just a wild hunch that gets tossed around every once in a while, some claim there are hints in-game hinting at the existence of such a city.
Why There Might Be An Entire Underwater City In Fallout 4
For those who might not be familiar, the perk system of the game allows the player to upgrade the skill set and unlock special attributes of their player through points they earn throughout the playthrough. One of these special perks is called ‘Aqua Boy‘, allowing players to stop taking radiation damage when they head under water, and even allowing them to breathe while they are in it.
While this might not seem a big deal to many, players over the last decade have been trying hard to connect this perk to the existence of an underwater civilization. Further evidence of the theory is given by the fact that there are a large number of domes and pipes that stretch across the map on both the normal surface and underwater, suggesting connections to the aforementioned hidden city.
To the disappointment of many, no concrete evidence was ever found indicating the existence of such said city, leaving it to forever exist as hearsay amongst the community. Furthermore, a YouTuber by the name Lavonicus has documented his journey exploring the vast oceans of Fallout 4, ultimately failing to come across any such underwater city.
Why Fans Are Upset At Bethesda For Coming Up With Starfield Instead Of Fallout 5
There remains no doubt how many gamers remain disappointed when it comes to Bethesda’s biggest title yet, Starfield. The space-exploring AAA title was in development for a long time and had an estimate of a $200 million budget, but unfortunately still failed to meet the high expectations players had built up over time waiting for the game to finally release.
This has also prompted fans to call out the studio claiming how the resources would have been better put to use if they just simply focused on producing Fallout 5 instead, a title fans have been demanding since long. “Starfield is missing everything that Fallout has..“, a user commented showing their belief in how Bethesda needs to get their priorities straight.
