Playing FromSoftware’s Elden Ring delivers an experience no less than a roller coaster ride, sending the players on a journey of nightmares and introspection, as they ask themselves how did it come to this point.
One of the key elements of Hidetaka Miyazaki’s latest release is how it often makes you feel powerless in certain scenarios, and this was taken a step further with the release of the game’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which brought with itself an issue where players were getting flagged for cheating in-game, without doing anything of such kind.
“We apologise for the inconvenience”: FromSoftware Officially Releases a Statement Regarding an Elden Ring Bug

While Elden Ring’s second to latest patch version 1.12 brought with itself much-requested features, like the ability to ride your steed during the final battle against the Elden Beast, it seemingly also introduced a glitch where PC players would get flagged for “Inappropriate activity”.
Mentioning the solution to the above-stated problem, the developers expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the players and advised them to verify the integrity of the game files before launching the game in order to fix the issue
With a franchise as big as Elden Ring, being one of the most streamed titles in recent times, it remains unexpected for the studio to leave such a problem unattended at first. Fortunately, it did not take the release of another patch to fix, and can be instead done within the very launcher the player brought the game from.
How to Verify Game Files Integrity on Steam

Despite not being a challenging task, some players can have a hard time navigating their way into their game library and finding out how to verify the game files for a particular title on Steam.
Luckily, the steps remain easy to follow, as all the user needs to do is bring their mouse over to the game in their library, right-click on it, and choose ‘Properties’ at the very bottom of the drop-down list.
What comes next is heading over to the ‘Installed Files’ tab and further locating the ‘Verify Integrity Files’ option, which, after being clicked on, would start a process of going through your game directory looking for any damaged and corrupt files. Further information can be obtained through the official Steam guide on how to verify game files.
