“They purposefully delay features”: Black Ops 6 Supposedly the Reason We Don’t Have Prestige in Modern Warfare 3

The Call of Duty franchise has been slowly bleeding out for some time, and their upcoming Black Ops 6 release remains the last hope. The video game series over the years have had different features and mechanics, but players have witnessed nothing spectacularly new for nearly half a decade now.

Furthermore, according to allegations made by a renowned leaker on social media, what makes it worse is how decision-makers have been holding back certain features just to be used as a selling point in future games.

Prestige in Black Ops 6 – What Did Call of Duty Fans Give Up to Get Here

Witnessed for the first time in Modern Warfare, launched back in 2007, the Prestige System was a unique mechanic that allowed players to reset all of their progress several times, gaining a badge by their name that showcased the level of prestige they were on.

And while this system has been passed down through Call of Duty games, it never captured the essence of what it was like initially at the beginning, until now, as with the upcoming release of Black Ops 6, the game will be taking after the mechanic last used in Black Ops 4.

However, what is truly upsetting is how fans could have gotten to see this feature make its inevitable return a year earlier in Modern Warfare 3, something which did not take place just to reserve a selling point for the franchise’s 2024 release.

It only remains fair for Activision to decide what happens within the franchise as its owner, but fans have finally begun to call out how it remains unfair to hold back certain features and mechanics only to be used as an advertising scapegoat in the future.

Why Black Ops 6 Is a High Stakes Release for the Whole Call of Duty Franchise

As stated earlier, there remains no doubt that the action-shooter series that once held dominance in the industry has been slowly losing its grip over the player base for the past few years.

To ensure Call of Duty does not bleed out entirely, the upcoming release seems to be a last-ditch effort to give fans all they have been asking for, bringing back many loved mechanics and game modes, including round-based zombies mode.

The title is slated to launch on October 25th, and will ultimately determine the future of the entire franchise moving forward once it is finally released and in the hands of the player.
