There are a lot of hidden details in games made by FromSoftware, and players seem to have come across a subtle remark to the grace of gold in Elden Ring whenever the tarnished finally manages to knock down an enemy.

Delivering a critical hit to your opponent in-game remains an important part of combat. When the poise finally breaks, one can observe how the enemy’s eyes start shining in gold sparkles, indicating when a critical hit can be delivered, and players believe this little detail might be a subtle nod to something else.

Being the mastermind he is, Hidetaka Miyazaki has designed nearly everything in his latest release to be associated with ‘Grace of Gold’ or anything that’s that golden, including the very purpose of our tarnished character.

Coming to the critical hit indicator, players of the game are guessing how the golden sparkles pouring out of a poise-broken enemy’s eyes might be the grace itself, guiding the player to kill the enemy in ‘the most effective way’, making the path to becoming the Elden Lord clearer by the day.

Despite sounding a bit out of the box at first, nothing remains impossible in a game like Elden Ring, especially after the release of its recent Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which has brought with itself a ton of difficult bosses and an identity crisis for the whole franchise.

Ever since its announcement in February 2023, fans were expecting FromSoftware’s largest expansion yet to give an ending to mysteries and stories left unfinished in the base game, which unfortunately was not the case when it finally launched.

To begin with, in the Frenzied Flame ending, we see Melina finally open her left eye and swear to deliver the destined death to the Tarnished character, something which has led everybody to believe that she is the Gloam-Eyed Queen.

Furthermore, starting with a portrayal of a close relationship with Miquella, the return of Godwyn the Golden was also expected in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which not only did not turn out to be the case but there was unfortunately not a single mention of the first child of Marika.

Do you believe the Golden Grace is making the players deliver critical hits to enemies? Make sure to let us know about it in the comments below!
