The idea of Battle Passes was appealing to many at first, but it has inevitably become more than just a progression system that rewards the player for playing the game more. Used by many multiplayer titles such as Apex Legends, the feature is now unfortunately just a money-making scapegoat.
Starting with the upcoming Season 22, the game’s Battle Pass will witness an overhaul no player in the community ever asked for, bringing a change for the worse while being advertised as something else.
Apex Legends Battle Pass – What Does EA Have in Store for Players Now?

Usually, battle passes are purchased through in-game currency, such as VP in Valorant and V-Bucks in Fortnite. However, beginning with the coming season of Apex Legends, the battle pass will have to be obtained using real-life currency instead.
Additionally, instead of a single battle pass for the duration of the season, there will now be 2 ‘splits’, with each split stretching across 60 levels and priced differently. The base premium pass will cost the player $9.99, with the second premium split costing another whopping $19.99.

Furthermore, how the rewards are given out for different battle pass subscriptions and tiers has been revamped as well, and players can’t help but show their disappointment and anger at the studio for bringing forth so many unwanted changes.
IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A STATEMENT AND FORCE A CHANGE, DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY OTHER REAL MONEY TRANSACTION WHEN S22 COMES OUT

we have been telling EA and Respawn they are tone deaf for way too long, let’s play a note they can fucking hear. don’t buy a single fucking thing with real… https://t.co/MS6NNXLyMO
As many have pointed out already, the marketing around the new battle pass remains an excuse for the studio to milk the player base out of their money once again.
im bout to just quit this game

To make matters worse, gamers who have Apex Coins saved up from the previous season would not be able to purchase the battle pass again due to them costing real-life currency now.
What to Expect in Apex Season 22?

As stated in the official blog post made by the studio, the studio is supposedly working forward to making sure underused rewards given in earlier battle passes are taken out and ‘revamped rewards’ are implemented instead.
Not only does this include the only two reactive rewards being divided into 2 different premium passes, but moving forward, players will also witness the absence of a lot of base-level trackers being included in the battle pass.
The only silver lining here is how the studio has revealed that fully designed trackers are still going to be included in the rewards, along with how the tracker art will now be interchangeable, allowing the player to use any art and put it on any Legend’s banner card.
