Fans of Elden Ring are having a field day with all their theories and speculations ever since FromSoftware abruptly chose to release a story trailer for the game’s upcoming DLC. One of these particular theories goes over how one of the previous Elden Lords might just be the cause behind omens being shunned from the golden grace.

We are talking about none other than Godfrey, the first Elden Lord and former husband of Queen Marika, the ruler of the Lands Between. It was the union between Marika and Godfrey that resulted in the birth of Morgott and Mohg, the two demigod omens we encounter in the game, and fans are guessing they have finally caught on to the root cause of their despair.

Despite being one of the detested creatures under the Golden Order, Morgott, The Omen King pledged his life to it and the Leyndell capital, defending the palace and the Erdtree against every single invader during the Shattering. Mohg, on the other hand, went on to get involved with The Formless Mother, who is another outer god, and became the Lord of Blood, set out on a quest to start his own Omen dynasty.
Through the events of Elden Ring, the players know the little significance Omens held in the society, often being killed off at birth, or imprisoned beneath the capital if born to novelty. Fans have now also started theorizing how it is none other than Godfrey, The First Elden Lord himself, who happens to carry the Omen bloodline somehow and passed it on to his children.
This would also imply that Godwyn the Golden, Marika and Godwyn’s third child was most likely the result of an affair instead, potentially connecting it to the commentary done in the recently released Story Trailer for the upcoming DLC.
How Is Godfrey Likely Connected To One Of the Enemies In The Land of Shadow

Land of Shadow remains a completely undiscovered realm to players, who will finally get the chance to explore after the DLC’s after its scheduled release on 21st June, less than a month from now. One of the many teased enemies is a mane-bearing creature, who also hosts horns similar to that of an Omen, possibly connecting it to the Godfrey once again.
Moreover, the stated creature also seems to have many grafted limbs, giving it an advantage on the battlefield. However, it is nothing gamers haven’t witnessed before, as Godrick the Grafted, the very first shard bearer the player comes across happens to imitate the same technique too, making fans wonder if the two entities ever came face-to-face in the past, allowing one to gain inspiration from the other.
Elden Ring is available to purchase on Steam.
